Jo graduated with an Honours diploma in Interior Design from the prestigious KLC School of Design in 2006 and then immediately worked for a design company in Buckinghamshire for three years before starting her own business in 2009.
She is accredited as a full ‘Member’ by the British Institute of Interior Design, the pre-eminent professional organisation for interior designers in the United Kingdom. With a proven ability to build and maintain successful working relationships with her clients, Jo places a high emphasis on gaining their trust and confidence.
Comfortable working within a variety of budgets and styles for residential or commercial projects, Jo has formed long standing relationships with a talented team of reliable tradesmen and highly reputable manufacturers of fabrics, furniture and lighting.
From supplying fine hand made curtains and blinds to full project installation, Jo is happy to help you as little or as much as you need. Her focus is always concentrated on delivering beautiful results.
How it Works
Jo’s design service is completely flexible. If you need help with just one room or a whole house, Jo will work with you to make the process simple and enjoyable.
For residential projects Jo operates a straightforward fee structure as detailed.
Jo will visit you, preferably at the project site, to discuss your requirements. This is a great opportunity for Jo to make initial suggestions, assess how much involvement is required and for you to ask Jo any questions you have.
This initial consultation is free of charge and normally takes one hour. Jo will write to you with her proposal detailing the work it includes, along with the fee. Fees differ according to the complexity of each job, but are usually calculated based on an hourly rate supported by detailed timesheets.
If you wish to proceed, you will be asked to sign the British Institute of Interior Design's ‘Concise Agreement for Interior Design Services' – a short and clear contract ensuring a fair and balanced relationship between designer and client.
Meeting and Measuring
Once the paperwork has been signed, Jo will arrange to visit site to take detailed measurements, photographs and discuss the project with you in further detail.
A comprehensive presentation will follow detailing soft furnishings, furniture choices, lighting and accessories as required, using a combination of large samples, sample boards and images. A detailed written specification of these items will also be included. When appropriate, CAD plan and elevation drawings detailing furniture layouts and lighting plans can also be provided.
Should things change from the initial brief, any further sourcing required will be charged at an hourly rate.
Procurement & Installation
Jo will provide detailed individual and competitive estimates for each item she includes in her designs. Highly regarded companies such as Colefax and Fowler, GP&J Baker, Romo, Osborne and Little and lighting companies such as Porta Romana are just a few of the suppliers Jo Shore Ltd relies on. Jo can procure all furniture, soft furnishings including curtains, lighting and wallpapers and will co-ordinate all the deliveries and installations purchased through Jo Shore Limited.
If you have already found a fabric, item of furniture or lighting yourself and would like a quote on supply only, please do get in contact and Jo can provide you with a competitive quotation.
Know what you're doing but need a second, professional opinion?
On those occasions where you don't require a full design service but maybe a little guidance on a particular part of your project, Jo is happy to help, working on an hourly fee (plus travel costs). For commercial projects, each project is subject to individual consultation and quotation.
