Somerset Barn Conversion Traditional cottage charm
Jo's brief was to transform a dated sitting room, dining room, guest bedroom and study into calm and elegant spaces, using only natural fibre fabrics throughout the property.
By contrasting striking, pictorial patterns with calm muted tones, Jo was able to retain a relaxed feel yet keep the interior visually interesting.
For the sitting room, Jo’s client requested a scheme with a light oriental influence, in a muted, neutral palette. Her client’s existing furniture was reupholstered and updated with decorative prints and window pane checks. The new soft furnishings, solid oak floor, and silk and wool rug allowed our clients artwork and antique furniture to co-exist seamlessly with a sharper, more sophisticated look.
“I approached Jo after admiring many ideas in her portfolio. I have been absolutely delighted with Jo’s tactful and enthusiastic suggestions for updating my frankly rather tired sitting and dining room, study and guest bedroom – which I had been unable to achieve alone.
I now have the calm, elegant yet relaxed effect, which I requested – where my old artwork and bits of antique furniture can co-exist with a sharper more sophisticated look. Jo’s vast knowledge of products, paints, lighting and fabric choices enabled her to fast track me to a new look which was an inspiration.”Mrs Robinson Somerset
