Cotswold Cottage A calm and considered interior
Recommended by one of Jo’s existing clients at a sunny lunch in South Africa, this project was a great example of how well a designer and their client can collaborate even with 7,796 miles separating them.
Extended and entirely restored from top to bottom, this charming Cotswold cottage was a dream for Jo. With her clients based oversees, Jo was responsible for the smooth running of the renovation project, working directly with the client’s builder and nearly a dozen different trades.
The property was stripped right back to it’s bare bones with a new extension added on to the back of the house which both connected the cottage to an existing outbuilding and provided the house with a beautiful, light kitchen and dining area.
With every room individually designed by Jo, the use of natural products such as seagrass flooring, limestone, bamboo and linen created layers of textures which, combined with versatile white painted walls and beams, resulted in a timeless, uncluttered feel. Antiques and artwork sourced both by Jo and her client helped create a more eclectic and homely interior. As well as dreaming up the overall vision for the cottage, Jo provided the lighting and electrical layouts for the entire property, assisted with the kitchen design and designed and specified the two bathrooms.
